It began with my eighth birthday. I was so excited because my birthday present was a camera. Growing up in the midwestern United States is what some would call boring. As a kid, I never thought of it that way, but I did seek adventure anywhere I could. I did all the ‘kid’ stuff you do at that age, but once the camera was in my hand it opened up a whole different world.

Looking through a viewfinder I started to realize there was much more out there to see than just rushing through life with blinders on. The camera opened up, what was at the beginning, an alien world for me. Details emerged and it led me on a more than 50 year quest to find beauty at every turn.

Now my camera is like an extension of my arm. It’s with me nearly all the time and I’m always looking for ‘that’ shot that gets my blood pumping with excitement to see what I’ve captured. I create these images with the hope that they will light your imagination, bring back memories, and hopefully provide enjoyment.
